This blog was created on request!  I find that a lot of people are curious about what it means to be a vegan, and I get frequent requests for recipes and menu plans.  The main purpose of this blog will be to share recipes with my friends and family members (and anyone else who is interested). 

For me, learning to cook vegan food has been incredibly liberating.  I've been a vegetarian most of my life, but cheese and other dairy products were always a huge crutch in my vegetarian cooking.  Learning to cook without any animal products has introduced me to a whole new world of crunchy, creamy, savory, and sweet ingredients, and a wealth of new cooking techniques.  I've met fruits and vegetables that I had never tried before, and I've discovered how absolutely blissful I feel when I am eating light, clean, healthy food.  I hope you will try some of these recipes and let me know what you think of them!

My main priority is to make sure that the food featured on this blog is delicious and nutritious.  I'll also share cooking tips and nutritional profiles of some of the foods that are staples at my house, as well as information about food justice issues when it's relevant (and it's always relevant!)
